We took them to the vet because when we were cleaning out their litter trays each day we weren't finding any poos! And there aren't any hiding in any naughty places because we would smell it. Though I did find a dry old kitten poo under my bed when I had a clearout under there recently.
Their cat boxes were lined with blankets and toys and Dreamies to make them comfortable, which they appreciated for about 30 seconds before we closed the doors and they realised what was going on, at which point they went craaaaaazy and started biting and clawing at the bars! Naughty! There were claw husks EVERYWHERE! No matter how hard they tried they couldn't get out. Louise and I had to take it in turns to hold the boxes to calm them down while we waited for the taxi.
When the taxi arrived we assumed we'd have to squidge the cat boxes on the back seats or something, but the taxi man had a better idea and put them into his huge boot! Here is a picture of the boys in the boot:
They still have their names on their boxes from when they were de-balled.
We got the the vets and the boys had calmed down. They settled calmly in their boxes and waited patiently.
When we got in the vet room Biccie was seen first. He wandered tentatively out of his box, looking all around himself taking in his new surroundings with wide eyes. The vet lady was very nice. She checked his eyes and ears and all that jazz, then she gave his tummny a little squeeze to determine whether Biccie was hoarding his poos in there. She said that it felt nice and squishy and that if he was full of poop his tummy would feel like ropes, which it did not. Biccie got to stroll back into his box, leaving little stripy furs all over the table.
Smudgie was a little more difficult. We had to tip up the box to get him out, so he did a big handstand. The vet lady said "Hello, big boy" when he was finally out of the box. She is right, he is a big boy. It's official now because the vet said so. I had to hold him by the shoulders while the lady squeezed his tummy so he didn't try to jump off the table. Turns out Smudge is fine too, so we just have to feed them less dry food and more wet while it's warm weather to make sure they stay hydrated.
There they are outside the vets waiting for the taxi home, where they spend some more time in the boot. I think they liked the boot though. They were a little cross with us when we got them home, but at least their tummies were okay! Smudge did have to miss his anal bleaching though, which he wasn't at all happy about. He said they'd remove him from the books because he missed his appointment, but his bum still seems white as ever so I guess they let him stay, or he found another place.
