"hey connie, the bin's on fire"

"hey connie, the bin's on fire" I said in my most everyday voice.

Thing is, the bins really were on fire. Some dickhead seems to have run down the street and set fire to all the recycling. I joked a few weeks ago that this would be done. And then it was.

I called 999. They sent a fire VAN. Not even a fire ENGINE and fire VAN to deal with what was potentially a streets worth of bins on fire. Luckily, the community came together and put them out with buckets and hoses. Bloody good job, else they'd still be burning now, and so would a few cars and fences no doubt.

We now have charred remains outside our house. What will happen with these I've no idea. Maybe the council will leave them there as a relic of what's become of this city as a result of the cuts.

I have pictures, but I can't work out how to upload them from my phone to my laptop, so those will have to wait.
